ABOUT: Dalmatian jasper (also known as Dalmatian stone) is typically found and mined in Chihuahua, Mexico. It was given its name due to its visual similarities to the Dalmatian species of dog and their shared black spots. Dalmatian jasper is not actually a form of jasper, it is an igneous microcrystalline quartz with a mixture of other minerals, including black tourmaline, which is what gives the mineral its dark, distinctive spots.
SPIRITUAL/HEALING PROPERTIES: Dalmatian jasper is said to awaken the playful side of a person, and help remind us about the simple joys in life. It helps promote and strengthen devotion toward others in our lives. Dalmatian jasper is commonly used by those who suffer from nightmares as its black spots are believed to absorb negative and chaotic energy to encourage a restful, good night’s sleep. Dalmatian jasper has also been said to promote and boost one’s confidence, and help strengthen one’s drive to help them achieve their goals.
